Audiology Extern

Amanda joins our practice as a fourth year extern from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from UMass in 2014 and will be finishing up her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree in May of 2018. She has previously completed clinical rotations at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital and Baystate Franklin Rehabilitation Center. She also was an office intern at Digital Hearing Healthcare in the past! Last year, she completed a research project on The Impact of Audibility on Competing Speech Perception in Older Adults. She also inspired awareness of the field of audiology throughout her graduate career by being a teaching assistant for the class Introduction to Audiology. Amanda’s interests include treatment of hearing loss with the latest amplification technology, Bluetooth and iPhone hearing aid compatibility, and educating people on hearing loss. She has attended Audigy Group’s student workshop where she developed skills in leadership, patient care and professional development. She loves the beach, reading and running.
